Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the day to day financial operations and transactions of our India subsidiary. They will also coordinate with the US Accounting team and any supporting vendors.Working hours will be flexible according to IST, except for Wednesdays when you will be expected to participate in a call between the India and US team scheduled for 8:00 am EST. Working hours for Wednesdays will be adjusted as needed to accommodate this call.

Key Responsibilities

  • General ledger accounting and journal entry transactions
  • Reconciliation of key Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts
  • Preparation of the monthly financial reporting by researching and analyzing information from the general ledger system; including the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flows, and Budget to Actuals reporting
  • Accounts payable & Vendor management
  • Recording of intercompany transactions and reconciliation of our India and US books.
  • Fixed asset management
  • Tax compliance reporting & filing (GST, TDS, etc.)
  • Annual Financial and GST Audit Coordinator
  • Coordination with Accounting Team for US parent company and external accounting & legal firms
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Support on Transfer Pricing studies
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis of financial data as required

Qualifications

  • Education & Certifications:
    • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance (Masters Preferred), or equivalent degree
    • Chartered Accountant certification a plus
  • Experience & Skills:
    • 5+ years of accounting experience
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles (India AS, IFRS)
    • Prior experience with Zoho, Workday, or equivalent accounting platform
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities
    • Proficient with Google Suite and Microsoft Excel
    • Technology and AI industry experience a plus
    • Knowledge of US GAAP a plus
    • Ability to complete assigned tasks and duties with minimal day to day supervision
