Security Officer

As a Security Officer at Dayananda Sagar University in Bengaluru, your role will be crucial in ensuring the overall security and safety of the university campuses, students, faculty, and staff. Your responsibilities will include supervising and managing the daily operations of the campus security personnel, developing and implementing campus security protocols, conducting security audits and risk assessments, liaising with local law enforcement agencies, handling security breaches or incidents effectively, maintaining documentation for university records, training and mentoring internal security staff, and monitoring CCTV surveillance systems. Key Responsibilities: - Ensure the overall security and safety of the university campuses, students, faculty, and staff. - Supervise and manage the daily operations of the campus security personnel. - Develop, implement, and monitor campus security protocols, emergency procedures, and crisis response plans. - Conduct regular security audits, patrols, and risk assessments across university properties. - Liaise with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services as required. - Handle and investigate any security breaches or incidents promptly and effectively. - Maintain logs, incident reports, and other documentation for university records. - Train and mentor the internal security staff for vigilance and discipline. - Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and ensure proper functionality of all security equipment. Qualifications & Experience: - VRS/Retired personnel from paramilitary forces such as BSF, CRPF, CISF or similar. - Minimum 15-20 years of service, with a clean and commendable record. - Preferably retired at the rank of Inspector/Sub-Inspector or above. - Candidates who have taken Voluntary Retirement (VRS) will be given preference. - Strong leadership and crisis management skills. - Sound knowledge of security operations, law and order, and emergency response protocols. - Familiarity with electronic surveillance systems and access control mechanisms. In addition to the specific qualifications and responsibilities, it is essential for you to have good communication skills in English and Kannada, be physically fit and mentally alert, and have the ability to work in shifts and handle emergency situations effectively.,
