Purpose of the Role:

To manage the overall mechanical maintenance and production functions of the Wire Rod Pickling Plant, including Annealing & Pickling lines (AP Line), Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), and Dispatch, ensuring optimal equipment availability, production efficiency, cost control, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Operations & Maintenance:

• Oversee mechanical maintenance and smooth operation of AP Line, ETP, and Dispatch sections.
• Ensure high equipment availability through preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Production Management:

• Achieve production targets as per defined quality standards and SOPs.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for handling non-conformities in Annealed & Pickled products.
• Ensure documentation and adherence to production processes and customer specifications.

Planning & Coordination:

• Collaborate with PPC for daily/weekly/monthly production and dispatch planning.
• Work closely with the Plant Head and PPC for new product development and implementation.

Improvement Initiatives:

• Identify and implement improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
• Recommend corrective actions to minimize downtime and process rejections.
• Address deviations in process cost and take actions for optimization.

Quality & Process Control:

• Implement new production practices and process improvements.
• Drive quality systems such as TPM, ISO, 5S, and lean manufacturing practices.
• Promote continuous improvement and adherence to best manufacturing practices.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with EHS guidelines and legal requirements.
• Drive safety initiatives and monitor adherence to environmental and statutory norms.
