About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead and facilitate agile delivery for our backend engineering teams. This role requires not just strong agile coaching skills but also a basic technical understanding of backend systems to effectively partner with engineers and stakeholders. The ideal candidate is someone with hands-on experience working alongside backend teams, who can bridge communication between technical and non-technical groups.Key Responsibilities:Facilitate agile ceremonies: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectivesGuide backend engineering teams on Scrum best practices and agile principlesRemove impediments and help the team maintain focus on sprint goalsCollaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to prioritize work and plan releasesHelp track technical progress and communicate blockers, risks, and dependenciesSupport the teams continuous improvement efforts and foster a culture of learningDrive alignment between technical and product teams, helping translate technical discussions into actionable outcomesUse agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, notion) to manage sprints and report key metricsTrack and communicate team progress using relevant metrics (e.g., burndown charts, velocity)Coach the team on self-organization, accountability, and cross-functionalityFoster a positive, collaborative, and open team environmentRequirements:2.5 years of experience as a Scrum Master (preferably with backend or infrastructure engineering teams)Strong grasp of Scrum practices, principles, and frameworksBasic technical knowledge of backend system concepts (APIs, microservices, databases, etc.)Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related fieldCertified Scrum Master (CSM), PSM, or equivalent agile certification (preferred)Experience working with cross-functional technical teamsStrong facilitation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skillsFamiliarity with agile tools (JIRA, Confluence, notion or similar)Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skillsExperience working with cross-functional software development teamsFamiliarity with Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilitiesAbility to manage multiple stakeholders and balance competing prioritiesNice to Have:Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, or microservices architecturesExperience in scaling agile practices across multiple teamsKnowledge of additional frameworks like Kanban, SAFe, or LeSS.
