Scala Developer

As an experienced professional with 8 to 14 years of experience, you will be reporting to the Vice President in this role. Your primary responsibilities will include employing a variety of techniques to analyze problems and evaluate multiple solutions based on engineering, business, and strategic criteria. You will be tasked with identifying and resolving barriers to business deliveries by implementing iterative solutions that deliver value. Designing solutions using common design patterns and a range of design tools and techniques will be a key aspect of your role. You will also conduct peer reviews to ensure that designs are fit for purpose, extensible, and reusable. Furthermore, you will be responsible for designing and building secure and controlled solutions. Your role will require you to provide leadership within a delivery team, involving modeling, coding, testing, and collaborating to understand requirements, create stories, design solutions, implement them, and assist in testing them. To excel in this role, you should be an analytical thinker, a team player, and possess strong communication skills. You should enable experimentation and fast learning approaches to creating business solutions. Familiarity with solution design tools, as well as an understanding of key elements of security, risk, and control, will be essential. Your background should demonstrate a track record of identifying and implementing improvements to the delivery process. You should have core programming language expertise in Scala and Java, with experience working with large datasets using Big Data technologies such as Spark, Impala, and Hive. A good understanding of Hadoop functioning and infrastructure is also required. Utilizing data modeling tools, Domain Driven Design, and a strong knowledge of SQL and advanced data analysis to deliver high-quality code within enterprise-scale development (CI/CD) will be part of your responsibilities. Experience with development utilizing SDLC tools such as Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity, and OpenShift will also be beneficial for this role.,
