SCADA Systems Engineer - Grid management

Job Summary

Efacec is seeking a highly motivated SCADA Systems Engineer with 4 to 10 years of experience to join our ASE Engineering Operations team. The selected candidate will support maintenance contracts, assist clients during warranty periods, troubleshoot Smart Grid products and systems, and manage updates in both hardware and software. The role involves planning tasks to minimize system downtime and ensuring high-quality delivery across all project phases.

- 4 to 10 years in SCADA systems and Smart Grid technologies.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Proficiency in English (mandatory), also French and Spanish (plus)

- The role may require presence at client sites for SAT and commissioning activities.

Role & responsibilities

Lead the technical scope of SCADA projects, including:

• Definition and preparation of project scope with Clients and company Project Managers.
• Configuration of databases, hardware, and ScateX modules (DMS, OMS, OTS, Jasper Reports, etc.).
• Execution of internal tests, FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
• Remote and on-site support for system installation and start-up.
• Preparation and delivery of client training sessions.
• Reporting project status to management and clients.
• Ensuring compliance with quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
• The role may require presence at client sites for SAT and commissioning activities (Frequent travel availability required)

Preferred candidate profile

• 4 to 10 years in SCADA systems and Smart Grid technologies
• Education: Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical and Computer Engineering Energy or Automation branch; or Computer Engineering)
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in English (mandatory), also additional benefit if French and Spanish
• The role may require presence at client sites for SAT and commissioning activities

Technical Skills: -

Strong knowledge of:

• SCADA and ADMS systems
• Communication protocols (IEC104, IEC101, DNP, ICCP)
• Oracle databases
• DB monitoring, performance analysis and general troubleshooting
• Operating systems: Windows, Linux (bash proficiency is mandatory), ESXi/VMWare
• Microsoft Office
• JavaScript
• Ansible
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in English Mandatory (also additional benefit if French and Spanish )
