SCADA Engineer

As an individual responsible for SCADA system design and implementation, your role will involve contributing to the development of system architecture, defining component specifications, and configuring settings. Additionally, you will be tasked with setting up SCADA software, testing system functionality, and ensuring the proper operation of SCADA components. Your troubleshooting skills will be put to the test as you identify and resolve technical issues such as communication errors, data acquisition failures, and software glitches. In order to maintain and update SCADA systems effectively, you will need to ensure their reliability and optimal performance through regular updates, security patches, and system upgrades. Collaboration with other engineers and technicians is crucial for the successful deployment and operation of SCADA systems, requiring close teamwork and coordination. Qualifications required for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrument and Control Industrial Engineering, or a related STEM field. While this is a junior role, some employers may prefer or require prior experience with SCADA systems. Proficiency in specific SCADA software platforms like Wonderware and Rockwell Automation, as well as knowledge of PLC systems and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, and IEC 61850, are often expected.
