As an individual responsible for SCADA system design and implementation, your role will involve contributing to the development of system architecture, component specifications, and configuration settings. Additionally, you will be configuring and testing SCADA systems by setting up SCADA software, testing system functionality, and verifying the correct operation of SCADA components. In case of any technical issues, you will be identifying and resolving problems such as communication errors, data acquisition failures, and software glitches. It will also be your responsibility to maintain and update SCADA systems to ensure optimal performance, including regular updates, security patches, and system upgrades. Collaboration with other engineers and technicians is crucial for the successful deployment and operation of SCADA systems. Key Responsibilities: - Contribute to the development of system architecture, component specifications, and configuration settings for SCADA systems. - Configure and test SCADA systems by setting up software, testing functionality, and verifying correct operation. - Identify and resolve technical issues including communication errors, data acquisition failures, and software glitches. - Maintain and update SCADA systems for optimal performance, including regular updates, security patches, and system upgrades. - Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to ensure successful deployment and operation of SCADA systems. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrument and Control Industrial Engineering (or a related STEM field) is typically required. - Some prior experience with SCADA systems may be preferred or required for this role. - Familiarity with specific SCADA software platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Rockwell Automation) is often expected. - Understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and their integration with SCADA systems is often essential. - Familiarity with common industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850) is often required. You are expected to possess skills such as problem-solving, troubleshooting, attention to detail, effective communication, and organizational skills to succeed in this role. Your ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to SCADA systems, analyze system problems, ensure accurate configuration and documentation, and communicate technical information effectively will be key to your success. Additionally, your organizational skills in managing tasks, prioritizing work, and maintaining detailed records will contribute to the efficient operation of SCADA systems.
