SCADA Engineer

As a SCADA Engineer at ENGIE India, your role involves understanding, troubleshooting, maintaining, and implementing changes in the current SCADA system developed on the Ignition Platform. You should have experience handling SCADA systems, with additional experience in Energy Management being advantageous. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing, developing, and maintaining SCADA systems using Inductive Automation's Ignition platform. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deploy site-level and central monitoring systems. - Developing and configuring HMI screens, data tags, alarms, and reports to meet operational requirements. - Integrating data from various field devices into the SCADA system. - Supporting commissioning, troubleshooting, and enhancements of live SCADA systems. - Maintaining documentation, standards, and version control for SCADA configurations. - Adhering to industry best practices, cybersecurity guidelines, and safety protocols. - Working closely with operations and support teams to analyze system issues and implement corrective actions. Responsibilities: - Possessing Ignition Certification, with CORE Certification being essential and GOLD Certification being desirable. - Designing, programming, and maintaining SCADA/HMI user interface using Ignition Designer. - Designing and implementing web interfaces using Ignition Perspective. - Scripting in Python within Ignition. - Interfacing with the OPC Server/Client and other external systems. - Implementing Tag Historian and report functions. - Integrating Maria db/Influx db with the SCADA backend using SQL Bridge. - Performing Backup and Restore operations. - Managing alarms, indicators, and alert notifications. - Integrating with email and other messaging services. - Handling industrial protocols like Modbus, Profibus, EthernetIP, DNP3, etc. - Setting up and integration with OPC Server and OPC Client. Required Skills: - Strong understanding of SCADA architecture, including client-server communication and database connectivity. - Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA, DNP3, MQTT, etc. - Proficiency in SQL for data querying, historization, and report generation. - Basic understanding of PLC programming and control logic (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.). - Knowledge of scripting languages, especially Python. - Familiarity with database systems and integration with SCADA. - Understanding of networking fundamentals and system security principles. - Exposure to Azure cloud is a plus. Prerequisites: - Qualification: BE/B Tech/MCA. - Minimum of 4+ years of experience. - Open to working from both the Pune office location and remotely.
