Role Introduction

One of our client is executing a comprehensive brownfield conversion from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA under the RISE with SAP program, encompassing system conversion, integrations, computer system validation (CSV), data migration, and post-migration Application Management Services (AMS).

To support this strategic initiative, seeks to engage an experienced Independent Project Manager (IPM) who will act as the owner-side delivery leader and governance authority, ensuring successful coordination between internal leadership and the selected System Integrator (SI). The IPM will be responsible for driving program governance, stakeholder management, regulatory compliance oversight (GMP/GxP), data migration assurance, and executive reporting across global workstreams, with specific engagement across North America stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Program Governance & Delivery

• Lead end-to-end project management for the SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA brownfield conversion under the RISE with SAP methodology.
• Define and govern project plans, milestones, schedules, budgets, resource plans, risk registers, and change control frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with approved scope, quality benchmarks, regulated documentation standards (CSV/GxP), and regulatory timelines.
• Govern SI performance against contractual delivery obligations and SLAs.

Stakeholder & SI Management

• Operate as the single point of governance between Leadership and the SI partner.
• Facilitate global governance cadence including project WAR calls, weekly leadership updates, steering committee meetings, and executive briefings.
• Manage escalations and conflict resolution across business, QA, IT Security, and technical delivery teams.
• Support engagement with North America business leaders and regulatory compliance stakeholders.

Technical & Security Oversight

• Review and validate solution architecture, conversion approaches, and RISE technical landscapes.
• Ensure security controls comply with GDPR, HIPAA (if applicable), internal IT security regulations, and audit readiness requirements.
• Collaborate with SI teams on system hardening, access control governance, penetration testing, and vulnerability remediation.

Data Migration & Validation Governance

• Oversee data migration strategy across extraction, cleansing, conversion, mock runs, reconciliation, and production cutover stages.
• Ensure end-to-end data validation, business sign-off protocols, and compliance documentation for regulated environments.

Compliance, CSV & GMP Oversight

• Govern CSV activities to ensure validation lifecycle adherence, including IQ, OQ, PQ documentation and testing approvals.
• Ensure operational compliance within GMP-regulated environments, supporting regulatory audit readiness and inspection preparedness.
• Coordinate QA engagement for validation artifact approval and digital signature workflows.

Risk, Issue & Quality Management

• Maintain a formal RAID governance framework.
• Identify delivery risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies across technical, regulatory, and operational domains.
• Ensure CAPA execution where quality deviations or compliance risks arise.

Executive Leadership Reporting

• Provide succinct, data-driven program updates to executive sponsors and the steering committee.
• Present readiness assessments, cutover risk evaluations, and go/no-go recommendations at stage-gate milestones.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 12+ years of SAP project/program leadership experience.
• At least two (2) complete SAP ECC SAP S/4HANA migration programs, with a strong preference for brownfield implementations.
• Proven experience working with Tier-1 global System Integrators on large enterprise transformation projects.
• Demonstrated delivery governance experience across multi-geography, cross-time-zone projects, with particular exposure to North America business stakeholders.

Certifications

• Mandatory

  : PMP or PRINCE2 certification.

• Preferred:

  SAP S/4HANA or SAP project/supply chain/technology certifications.

Regulatory & Technical Skills

• Proven understanding of SAP core modules and integration landscapes.
• Strong background in: SAP technical architecture review and governance, Data migration and reconciliation programs, Computer System Validation (CSV) frameworks, GMP and GxP regulated delivery environments, Data security and privacy compliance (GDPR/HIPAA as applicable).

Soft Skills
