SAP MDG technical consultant

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Analysis & Requirements Definition

• Stakeholder Management:

  Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and formalize their needs regarding processes and functional areas.

• Requirements Translation:

  Translate business needs into clear system development requirements and new project proposals.

• Impact Analysis & Budgeting:

  Analyze the impact of business requests and quantify development efforts. Collaborate with architects and technical analysts to estimate necessary budgets.

• Documentation:

  Write comprehensive functional specifications in collaboration with application architects and business analysts to meet strategic business challenges.

• Vendor Management:

  When necessary, initiate and participate in market studies or Requests for Proposals (RFPs/tenders).

2. Architecture & Strategy

• Solution Design:

  Participate in defining functional and technical architectures. Prepare and present implementation scenarios and their respective impacts to stakeholders.

• System Evolution:

  Manage the lifecycle and evolution of information systems in alignment with changing business needs and the broader IT strategy.

3. Implementation & Production Support

• Technical Specifications:

  Write and/or validate technical specifications and evaluate the costs required for implementation.

• Testing & QA:

  Design and execute rigorous test plans to ensure the proper functioning of business processes within the information systems.

• Production Support:

  oversee the implementation phase and provide support to production teams to ensure smooth deployment.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Expertise

• SAP MDG Specialist:

  Subject Matter Expert (SME) in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) technical implementation.

• SAP Programming:

  Strong background in SAP programming, including

  ABAP, WebDynpro, API Webservices, and IDoc processing.

• Master Data Management (MDM):

  Deep understanding of MDM principles and what a Master Data system should achieve.
• Note: While SAP MDG is the priority, experience with other top-tier Master Data systems will be considered if the candidate possesses strong SAP technical fundamentals.

• Data Management:

  Proven experience in data management best practices is mandatory.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience:

  68 years of relevant experience in IT and Data Management.

• Industry Knowledge:

  Understanding of the

  steel industry

  is highly preferred.

• System Knowledge:

  Excellent understanding of IT applications, enterprise architecture, and system integration.

• Language:

  Fluent in

  English

  (written and spoken). Proficiency in any other European language is an asset.
