SAP Functional Consultant - MM

SAP Functional Lead Consultant MM

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Lead SAP MM functional design and implementation in alignment with mining industry best practices.



• 
  

  Act as the primary functional point of contact for all MM-related activities, including Procure-to-Pay (P2P), inventory management, materials valuation, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) materials planning.



• 
  

  Collaborate with supply chain, maintenance, and operations teams to understand and translate business requirements into SAP solutions.



• 
  

  Customize and configure SAP MM to meet complex materials and procurement needs specific to mining operations (e.g., remote site logistics, asset-intensive procurement).



• 
  

  Oversee integration with SAP modules such as PM (Plant Maintenance), WM/EWM, FI, and SD.



• 
  

  Conduct fit-gap analysis, write functional specs, and work closely with ABAP developers.



• 
  

  Support data migration and cleansing activities related to materials master, vendor master, and purchasing data.



• 
  

  Provide leadership during UAT, training, and post-go-live support.



• 
  

  Recommend continuous improvement opportunities and system optimizations for field operations and centralized procurement.



• 
  

  Ensure compliance with corporate governance, safety, and sustainability standards.

Required Qualifications:

• 
  

  Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Business, IT, or related field.



• 
  

  Minimum 7 years of hands-on SAP MM experience, including 2+ full lifecycle implementations.



• 
  

  Strong knowledge of SAP MM in a mining or heavy industry environment.



• 
  

  Experience with indirect/direct procurement, consignment stock, subcontracting, and MRO-specific inventory processes.



• 
  

  Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA is a strong plus.



• 
  

  Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.



• 
  

  Fluent in English; Spanish or Portuguese is an asset for LATAM operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  

  SAP S/4HANA certification in MM.



• 
  

  Experience working with mining ERP landscapes and operational technology (OT) integration.



• 
  

  Familiarity with SAP Ariba or third-party procurement platforms used in mining.



• 
  

  Understanding of ESG and sustainability reporting impact on supply chain operations.
