Job Summary:
As a SAP BASIS Lead Consultant, you will be responsible for the administration, management, and support of SAP environments (Rise with SAP & Grow with SAP-BTP). This includes ensuring system availability, performance, and security, as well as planning and executing upgrades, patches, and system configurations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business processes and provide leadership in managing complex SAP landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration & Support
Manage the SAP landscape, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP NetWeaver, S/4 HANA, and related systems.
Monitor system performance, manage workload, and perform troubleshooting to ensure optimal system operation and minimal downtime.
Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies for critical systems.
System Upgrades & Patches
Plan and execute SAP software upgrades, patches, and enhancements in coordination with other IT and business teams.
Perform kernel upgrades, system refreshes, and database patches with minimal impact to users.
Security & Compliance
Maintain SAP system security, including user administration, authorization management, and compliance with organizational policies.
Collaborate with the Security team to ensure SAP systems are secured and adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Performance Tuning & Optimization
Perform root cause analysis of performance issues, conduct system tuning, and optimize databases (e.g., HANA, Oracle, MS SQL).
Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms to proactively address potential issues.
Project Management & Leadership
Lead and mentor junior BASIS consultants, providing technical guidance and support.
Manage BASIS tasks in SAP projects, including planning, budgeting, and execution of technical aspects.
Engage in project planning for new installations, migrations, and system upgrades, ensuring deliverables meet timelines and quality standards.
Documentation & Process Improvement
Maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, incident resolutions, and process improvements.
Continuously improve BASIS processes and automate tasks where possible to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
Presales Support & Customer Engagement
- Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical expertise during presales engagements, including understanding client needs and defining technical requirements.
- Develop and present SAP BASIS solutions and architecture to prospective clients, showcasing the value and impact of SAP technologies on their business.
- Prepare technical proposals, demos, and proof-of-concept (PoC) environments tailored to customer requirements.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, answering technical queries, addressing concerns, and establishing confidence in SAP solutions and services.
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
10+ years of SAP BASIS experience with a deep understanding of SAP landscapes and architecture.
Proven experience with SAP HANA, NetWeaver, and other SAP applications.
Experience leading SAP BASIS projects or teams is preferred.
Skills:
Strong technical knowledge in SAP HANA, S/4 HANA, ECC, Solution Manager, and SAP cloud integration.
Proficiency in databases such as Oracle, HANA, MS SQL, and Unix/Linux OS.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience with SAP performance tuning and root cause analysis.
Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Preferred Certifications:
SAP Certified Technology Associate in relevant SAP BASIS areas
