Senior Python Engineer

The Role

As our Senior Python Engineer, you will be a key founding team member in shaping how we

architect and build the next generation of AI solutions for insurance. In this role, youll have

immense autonomy to make critical technical decisions that will directly influence our products

and the future direction of Stitch Studio. Youll work closely with our founder/CEO and cross-

functional teams to design, scale, and optimize Python-based services that form the backbone

of our AI-driven platform.

What Youll Do

1. Architect & Develop: Lead the design and development of scalable Python services and

APIs that power our no-code AI platform and insurance-specific AI workflows.

2. Own the Core Tech Stack: Drive architectural decisions around data ingestion, retrieval-

augmented generation (RAG), integrations with external APIs, and secure single-tenant

deployments.

3. AI Integration: Collaborate with our AI specialists to incorporate LLM-based

features—such as domain-aware chatbots, knowledge extraction, and underwriting

logic—into stable, auditable, and production-ready Python applications.

4. Performance & Scalability: Optimize backend systems for low-latency data access, high

throughput, and secure data governance, ensuring we can confidently handle our

customers’ complex insurance use cases.

5. Infrastructure & Deployment: Help refine our CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration

(e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for

dependable and repeatable deployments.

6. Security & Compliance: Collaborate closely with compliance teams to ensure best

practices around data privacy, encryption, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOC2).

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, solution engineers, and

data scientists to implement features that deliver tangible value to customers in

underwriting, claims, and policy servicing.

8. Mentorship & Leadership: Provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers,

fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and best practices in software engineering.

What We’re Looking For

1. Extensive Python Expertise: 5+ years of professional experience writing production-

grade Python code, with a deep understanding of its libraries and frameworks (e.g.,

FastAPI, Flask, Django).

2. Architectural Vision: Proven track record of designing robust, scalable systems. You’ve

tackled complex data flows, integrations, and security considerations in prior roles.

3. Cloud & DevOps Skills: Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP. Comfort with container

technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.

4. Database Proficiency: Strong knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases; familiarity

with search engines or vector databases (e.g., Elasticsearch, Pinecone) is a plus.

5. AI/ML Integration: Past experience integrating AI/ML models into applications is highly

valued—whether it’s leveraging LLM-based APIs, building custom microservices, or

working with data pipelines.

6. Security Mindset: Awareness of security best practices, single-teant architectures,

authentication/authorization protocols, and data encryption.

7. Domain Interest: Excitement about transforming a regulated industry like insurance.

Prior experience in BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, Insurance) is a bonus but not

required.

8. Startup DNA: Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration. A hands-on problem solver
