SAP ABAP Lead

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of SAP ABAP developers across projects.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices and coding standards.

• Technical Development

• Design and develop ABAP programs including reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and workflows (RICEFW).
• Customize SAP modules (SD, MM, FICO, QM, etc.) using BADI, BAPI, User Exits, and enhancement frameworks.

• SAP HANA Integration

• Optimize ABAP code for SAP HANA using techniques like code pushdown and SQL Script.
• Collaborate on Fiori/UI5 and OData service development.

• Project Execution

• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and are completed on time and within budget.
• Participate in SAP implementation, upgrade, and migration projects.

• Collaboration & Consulting

• Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including functional consultants, testing teams, and project managers.

• Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain technical documentation and support audit and compliance requirements.
• Monitor usage of implemented functionalities and ensure adherence to internal controls.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (BE, MCA, B.Sc. preferred).
• 8–12 years of professional experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Expertise in Object-Oriented ABAP, ALV reports, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and dynamic programming.
• Experience with SAP NetWeaver, SAP BW, and Bex queries.
• Strong understanding of performance tuning, memory tracing, and parallel processing in ABAP.

Preferred Attributes:

• Proficiency in SAP HANA, Fiori/UI5, and integration technologies (RFCs, Web Services, APIs).
• Strong project management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train users and support month-end/quarter-end financial closings.
• Passion for continuous improvement and innovation in SAP technologies.
