Salesperson supermarket

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Supermarket Salesperson to join our team, focusing on the Rice, Pulses, and Household section. As a Salesperson in this department, you will be responsible for assisting customers, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the department's overall cleanliness and organization. Your goal is to provide excellent customer service, meet sales targets, and contribute to the efficient operation of our supermarket.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:Greet customers and assist them in finding products within the Rice, Pulses, and Household section.
Provide detailed information about product features, pricing, and benefits.Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.

Product Knowledge:Maintain a thorough understanding of the products in your section, including different types of rice, pulses, and household items.
Stay updated on product trends and promotions.

Stock Management:Ensure shelves are well-stocked, neatly arranged, and organized.
Monitor inventory levels and notify the manager of low stock or any replenishment needs.

Cleanliness and Maintenance:Keep the department and display areas clean and well-maintained.
Check for expired products and remove them from the shelves.

Sales Targets:Meet or exceed monthly sales targets.
Suggest upsell and cross-sell opportunities to customers.

Compliance:Compliance: Follow all supermarket policies and procedures, including safety and hygiene regulations.

Teamwork:Teamwork: Collaborate with other department employees to create a positive working environment.
Provide support during special promotions or events.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a supermarket or retail environment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of different types of rice, pulses, and household products.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Kannur, Kerala: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
