Salesforce Practice Head

Key Responsibilities

The core duties of a Salesforce Practice Head fall into several main areas:

  • Practice Leadership & Strategy:

    • Defining and executing the overall vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Salesforce practice.
    • Monitoring industry trends and emerging Salesforce technologies (like AI, Data Cloud, and various Industry Clouds) to keep service offerings competitive.
    • Owning the practice's Profit and Loss (P&L), including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring profitability targets are met.
  • Business Development & Client Engagement:

    • Partnering with sales and account teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
    • Leading pre-sales activities, including solution design, proposal creation, RFP responses, and delivering client presentations.
    • Building and maintaining strong C-level client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor, and handling critical escalations to ensure high satisfaction.
  • Delivery Excellence & Project Oversight:

    • Overseeing end-to-end delivery of complex Salesforce implementation, migration, and integration projects.
    • Establishing and enforcing best practices, governance models, and delivery methodologies to ensure quality, scalability, and on-time/on-budget delivery.
    • Providing architectural and design guidance to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with Salesforce standards.
  • Team Management & Capability Development:

    • Building, mentoring, and leading a high-performing, cross-functional team of architects, developers, consultants, and administrators.
    • Managing resource planning and allocation, ensuring appropriate staffing for projects.
    • Driving continuous learning, training, and certification plans across the team to align with Salesforce product updates and market demands.
  • Partner Ecosystem Collaboration:

    • Strengthening the alliance and go-to-market strategy with Salesforce's internal teams and other partners.
    • Representing the company in Salesforce partner events and thought-leadership forums.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience:

    Typically, 15+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 8+ years in a dedicated Salesforce leadership, practice management, or senior delivery role.
  • Technical Expertise:

    Deep expertise across multiple Salesforce clouds (Sales, Service, Marketing, Experience, etc.) and a strong understanding of the platform's architecture, integration patterns, Apex, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
  • Certifications:

    Salesforce certifications (e.g., Application Architect, System Architect, or the highly esteemed Certified Technical Architect (CTA)) are highly preferred.
  • Professional Skills:

    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong business acumen with proven experience in pre-sales and driving profitable growth.
    • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
