The Sales Manager-Dairy will be responsible for developing and managing sales operations for the Dairy Farm Division, focusing on both retail and institutional sales of milk, curd, ghee, paneer, butter, and other value-added dairy products. The role demands expertise in sales strategy, distribution expansion, channel development, and customer relationship management, ensuring consistent revenue growth and brand visibility in the dairy sector. Reporting To: Managing Director / CEO / Head Sales & Marketing/Business Head/General Manager

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY

1. Sales Planning & Strategy

a. Develop and implement effective sales strategies for dairy products including milk, curd, ghee, paneer, butter, and organic dairy variants.

b. Forecast sales volume and revenue targets for different product categories and regions.

c. Identify new business opportunities and channels for product expansion.

2. Channel Development & Distribution

  • Appoint, manage, and monitor distributors, super stockists, and retailers.
  • Ensure product availability and visibility across urban and rural markets.
  • Coordinate logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product delivery.

3. Team Management

  • Lead, motivate, and guide a team of sales executives and field officers.
  • Set performance targets and monitor KPIs.
  • Conduct training sessions on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer engagement.

4. Market Development

  • Conduct market research to understand trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences.
  • Plan and execute promotional campaigns and retail activations.
  • Collaborate with marketing for branding and advertising support.

5. Customer Relationship & Business Growth

a. Develop strong relationships with distributors, retailers, institutional buyers, and corporate clients.

b. Handle key account negotiations and contract closures.

c. Address customer feedback and complaints effectively.

6. Reporting & Analysis

a. Maintain accurate sales data, forecasts, and reports for management review.

b. Monitor profit margins and recommend price adjustments when necessary.

c. Analyze sales trends to improve business decisions.

DESIRED CANDIDATE

a. Bachelors or Master’s degree in Marketing / Agri-Business / Dairy Technology / MBA.

b. Minimum 5–8 years of experience in dairy or FMCG sales.

c. Exposure to organic dairy or farm-fresh product sales is an advantage.

d. Excellent knowledge of dairy or FMCG sales operations.

e. Strong communication, negotiation, and people management skills.

f. Analytical ability for forecasting and data-driven decision-making.

g. Understanding of cold-chain logistics and perishables handling.

h. Proficiency in MS Excel, CRM software, and ERP tools.
