We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Design Engineer with hands-on experience in AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and SolidWorks . The candidate will be responsible for developing precise design drawings, mechanical models, and production-ready fabrication details for steel and sheet metal components. You will collaborate closely with the production, fabrication, and project teams to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability. Key Responsibilities Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks for sheet metal, fabrication, and assembly designs. Develop and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation for production. Prepare GA drawings , sectional details , and fabrication layouts for manufacturing and client approval. Collaborate with production teams to ensure design feasibility and resolve fabrication challenges. Update existing designs as per revision requests or project specifications . Ensure drawing standards, tolerances, and dimensioning comply with company and industry norms. Support design automation, template creation, and efficient drawing workflow improvements. Coordinate with QC and production teams for design-to-production validation . Required Skills & Qualifications Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 3 - 5 years of experience in sheet metal design, fabrication, or related mechanical industries. Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, and Drawing modules). Strong understanding of sheet metal design principles , material behavior, and fabrication processes. Familiar with GD&T , tolerances, and dimensioning standards. Ability to interpret and create detailed mechanical and fabrication drawings. Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Preferred (Added Advantage) Experience in door/frame/hardware design or metal fabrication industry . Knowledge of ERP-based design workflows or design automation tools (VBA, macros) . Exposure to manufacturing process optimization or production planning collaboration .
