As a Student Counsellor for overseas education, your primary responsibility will be guiding students who aspire to pursue higher education abroad. You will engage with students to understand their goals, interests, and academic background, providing them with end-to-end counselling on admission procedures, visa processes, immigration regulations, and university requirements. Your role will involve addressing challenges faced by students during the admission process and offering effective solutions to ensure a smooth transition. In addition to counselling, you will be responsible for profile-based university shortlisting. By assessing student profiles, you will suggest suitable universities and programs that align with their academic, financial, and career aspirations. It will be crucial to provide accurate and detailed information about university offerings and eligibility requirements to help students make informed decisions. As part of the Business Development aspect of the role, you will contribute to student recruitment by identifying new opportunities and building strong relationships. Meeting recruitment targets and ensuring high levels of student satisfaction will be essential for success in this area. Social Media Engagement will also be a key component of your role. Actively engaging on various social media platforms, you will educate and inform prospective students about overseas education opportunities. Creating and sharing informative content on admissions, scholarships, visa updates, and other relevant topics will help reach a wider audience. Utilizing the company's CRM system efficiently is another crucial aspect of your role. Managing student records, tracking progress, and ensuring seamless communication will be essential tasks. Maintaining accurate and updated data for reporting and follow-ups will help in providing excellent service to students. Staying updated on changes in admission procedures, visa policies, and immigration rules will be necessary to provide up-to-date information to students. Building a strong knowledge base about partnered universities and their programs will also be beneficial in guiding students effectively. Representing the company in international visits to partnered universities and events will provide you with travel opportunities, allowing you to strengthen business relationships on a global scale. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelors/Masters degree in any discipline, preferably related to education or counselling, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in overseas education counselling or a similar role. A strong understanding of admissions, visa procedures, and immigration regulations is required, along with proficiency in profile-based university shortlisting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in CRM applications, and basic knowledge of social media marketing are also essential. Being self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working under minimal supervision are further qualities that will contribute to your success.
