Position Overview The Sales Engineer has an important role as the lead technical resource for visibility, security, and monitoring projects In this role, the Sales Engineers will be able to answer technical inquiries from customers regarding Niagara networks technology, features, solutions, applications as well as articulate Niagara networks technology and product positioning to both business and technical users Essential Functions Provide the technical expertise to the sales group to meet quota goals and increase market share Perform pre-qualification technical due diligence of opportunities, bid/no-bid recommendations Engage with customers, partners, colleagues and, the sales team as a mentor and subject matter expert advisor Deliver technical presentations, the perfect pitch to generate customer interest Consult, engineer, plan and execute local, regional, and countrywide network designs and solutions Produce technical architectures that are dependable, modifiable, and scalable Interface with customers to determine technical requirements feasibility and expectations Manage the technical aspect to RFPs, RFI s Prepare high quality, accurate and timely responses to technical requirements received from customers in the field Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand technical requirements. Assist in the sale cycle by educating the customer on Niagara Networks products and solution Participate in POC during the sales cycle Additional Duties Train sales partners on Niagara Networks products and solutions Provide technology sessions to the sales organization Prepare and publish whitepapers on competitors products and solutions Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Must possess a subject matter expert knowledge level on cyber security, visibility technologies, and solutions Strong applied knowledge on Ethernet, networking, 10G, 40G, and 100G technologies Demonstrated extensive knowledge of TCP/IP and application security in a service provider and large enterprise environment is required Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, listening, and presentation skills Ability and willingness to work under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to think ahead and anticipate problems, issues, and solutions Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills Required Education and Experience BS, BA, or Equivalent Work Experience in the Industry Minimum 4 years of experience working in Sales, engineering, or consulting Percent Travel 25%
