Job Description

You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and maintaining industrial diesel generator systems to ensure a reliable power supply by expertly testing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and complying with safety regulations. Your key responsibilities will include: Installation & Commissioning: Installing new diesel generator sets ranging from 60kVA to 1500kVA+, along with auxiliaries such as fuel tanks, ATS, control panels, and transfer switches. Conducting onload and offload testing, synchronization, and commissioning procedures, and preparing comprehensive reports. Preventive Maintenance & Testing: Performing scheduled preventive maintenance tasks like oil/filter changes, cooling/fuel system checks, battery tests, and control setting calibration. Running load-bank tests, voltage changeovers, and vibration/thermal analysis to ensure system performance. Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshooting mechanical (engine, fuel, cooling) and electrical (alternator, control, wiring) issues using diagnostic tools and schematics. Replacing faulty parts, rewiring relays/regulators, and servicing alternator/exciter. Documentation & Reporting: Maintaining detailed service logs documenting maintenance, parts replacement, test results, inspection reports, and commissioning documentation. Communicating findings and recommendations with engineers, supervisors, and clients. Safety & Compliance: Adhering to lockout/tagout, PPE procedures, and safety/hazard assessments as per industry standards. Handling hazardous fluids, batteries, and waste responsibly. Collaboration & Support: Coordinating with project teams, electricians, civil crews, and clients during installations and testing. Qualifications: Education & Certification: High school diploma or equivalent; Technical diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred. Experience: 1-2 years in diesel generator installation, testing, commissioning, or field service. Technical Skills: Proficiency in diesel engine systems, alternators, control modules, ATS/PLCs, wiring schematics, and load banks. Skilled in diagnostic and test tools such as thermal imaging, vibration meters, multimeters, and PI testers. Core Competencies: Strong troubleshooting skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail, physical fitness, excellent communication skills, and customer service orientation. Additional Requirements: Valid driver's license, willingness to travel frequently, work on call or overtime as needed, clean background (if required), ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
