Role Overview: As a Plant Safety Manager at our aerospace manufacturing facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, you will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and enforcing safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with national and international aerospace safety standards. Your role will involve promoting a strong safety culture, mitigating risks associated with high-precision manufacturing, hazardous materials, and complex production processes. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and maintain plant-wide safety policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs). - Ensure compliance with safety regulations such as OSHA, ISO 45001, AS9100, environmental guidelines, and local statutory rules. - Conduct safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews. - Lead risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and hazard identification processes. - Implement control measures for high-risk aerospace processes and oversee hazardous materials management. - Develop and deliver safety training programs and ensure understanding of emergency procedures and PPE requirements. - Lead incident investigations, maintain records of incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions, and communicate findings to leadership. - Manage emergency response programs, conduct evacuation drills, and coordinate with external emergency agencies. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance and introduce modern safety technologies where applicable. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field. - 7-10 years of experience in plant safety management. - Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes.
