Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced

RPG Developer

to join our Order Management Systems (OMS) team. This role is ideal for a technical expert passionate about building and maintaining high-performance applications using RPG on IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) systems.

You will play a critical role in designing, enhancing, and maintaining Order Management solutions that support business-critical operations across multiple domains with primary focus on B2B Order Creation and Management.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and maintain
RPG-based applications
on IBM i platforms.
Lead enhancements and bug-fixes in
Order Management Systems
(OMS), with deep understanding of customer account management, order entry, order fulfillment, billing, and returns modules.
Translate business requirements into high-quality, scalable, secure, and maintainable code.
Work collaboratively with Product Owners, QA, and multiple application and infrastructure teams located in USA and India to deliver end-to-end OMS solutions.
Conduct root cause analysis and performance tuning of the applications.
Modernize legacy RPG code (e.g., RPG III to RPG IV/ILE/Free Format) where necessary.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including code reviews and release notes.
Comply with Change Management, PCI, PII, SOX policies and best practices.
Provide technical mentorship to junior developers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

8+ years of experience
in RPG development, including
RPG
I
V, RPG
I
LE, and Free Format RPG
.
Strong hands-on experience with

BM

(AS/400,
i
Series)
platforms.
Deep understanding of
Order Management business processes
.
Proficiency in
CL, DDS, DB2/400
, and service programs/modules.
Solid experience with
EDI, APIs, and
i
ntegrations
between RPG-based and external systems.
Proven track record in performance tuning and troubleshooting RPG applications.
Ability to work independently and drive development in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
