Robot Operations Engineer

Assembly and maintenance of the robots, continuous improvements in the hardware through kaizen methodologies, building in-house tools and test setups, and comprehensive inventory and supply-chain management.

Core Responsibilities A thorough understanding of the assembly process of actuators and quadruped robots Consistently meeting the timelines of assembly and delivery of robots and actuators Resolving hardware issues in the robot, possibly on short notice Planning continuous improvements in the products, from the point of view of the hardware (both in terms of performance and user experience) Operational efficiency: Streamlining the inventory management and assembly processes Frequent technical communication with the HW design and software team, negotiations with vendors Hard Skills Technical degree (diploma, bachelor's, ITI) in the HW domain Proficiency in CAD (Solidworks) Comfort with basic assembly actions (fastening, press fitting, drilling, lubrication, soldering, etc.) Comfort in basic technical communication (fastener sizes, electrical ratings, names of tools and manufacturing processes, fit and tolerances) Operating PowerPoint, Word, and Excel Proficiency in 3D printing Reading and understanding technical datasheets Essential Mindset Adaptability & Startup Resilience: Thrives in uncertain environments with changing priorities, comfortable with resource constraints Communication & Collaboration: Effectively explains technical concepts to diverse audiences and collaborates constructively across teams Ownership & Initiative: Takes full responsibility for outcomes and proactively identifies and solves problems without waiting for direction Learning Agility: Rapidly acquires new skills, stays current with industry trends, and actively shares knowledge with teammates Mission Alignment: Genuinely excited about xTerra's vision, with a deep understanding of target users and problems being solved
