Mechanical Engineer Maintenance & Planning

Job Purpose:

Job Accountabilities:

• Develop, maintain, and analyze Maintenance KPIs and performance dashboards using Power BI and other analytics tools; deliver insights to support business decision-making.
• Manage the Plant Change Request (PCR) lifecycle, ensuring timely creation, follow-up, documentation, and closure in alignment with engineering standards and assurance protocols.
• Provide offsite Turnaround (TA) process support through data analytics, schedule tracking (using Primavera P6), and performance reporting. Sometime onsite support for TA schedule tracking may be required.
• Review and analyze maintenance plans, schedules, and work orders for efficiency and compliance.
• Provide remote technical support for troubleshooting mechanical/equipment issues, as required.
• Monitor performance data and recommend preventive or corrective actions.
• Review and update maintenance procedures, checklists, and job plans.
• Analyze equipment failure reports and support root cause analysis (RCA).
• Coordinate with site teams to ensure timely execution of maintenance activities.
• Evaluate spare parts requirements and assist in inventory optimization.
• Support CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) data updates and reporting.
• Review vendor manuals and ensure maintenance documentation is complete.
• Generate periodic reports on maintenance KPIs and equipment reliability.
• Collaborate with site teams and process owners to implement digital workflows and tools, ensuring solutions are aligned with business needs and fully supported post-deployment.
• Support assurance activities by tracking process compliance, deviation reporting, and action follow-up across global sites.
• Act as the technical interface between the ERM function and IT for domain tools, including application upgrades, license renewals, and new tool evaluation.
• Perform solution testing, quality checks, and manage user acceptance sign-offs to ensure reliability of digital tools.
• Document business processes, manage change requests, and maintain solution integrity throughout the lifecycle.
• Support site team to improve the processes by valuable inputs and digitalisation on platforms such as PowerApps, enhancing process efficiency and transparency.

Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills):

• Mechanical systems knowledge Pumps, compressors, valves, HVAC, piping, rotating/static equipment, etc. Electrical and Instrument equipment is desirable.
• Preventive & predictive maintenance Understanding of maintenance strategies and condition monitoring.
• Solid understanding of maintenance and reliability principles, especially for rotating and static equipment; electrical and instrumentation knowledge is a plus.
• CMMS proficiency – Experience with systems like SAP PM, Maximo, Oracle EAM, etc.
• Maintenance planning & scheduling – Familiar with tools like MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent.
• Reading technical drawings – P&IDs, mechanical layouts, equipment datasheets.
• Good Data analytics skills, Experience in power BI.
• Good knowledge of SAP-PM, MM and SAP work order management.
• Strong understanding of Turnaround (Shutdown) processes, including planning cycles, tracking, and compliance monitoring.
• Experience using Primavera P6 for schedule tracking, reporting, or integration with Turnaround planning data.
• Good hands-on knowledge in BPM (Business Process Management) software like MS power Automate. (Preferred but not Mandatory)
• Should have a good knowledge on identifying potential in process automation. Must have Knowledge of Estimating project scope and level of effort for new projects and/or existing projects that require changes-tasks, duration, resourcing, etc
• Knowledge of engineering documentation, digital assurance practices, and centralized process governance.
• Analytical thinking ability for planning and troubleshooting.

Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications):

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering

  .

• Minimum

  10+ years of overall experience

  , with at least

  3+ years in a digital/ analytics/ assurance support role

  within Engineering, Maintenance, or Reliability functions in Oil and Gas Domain.
• Field experience in Mechanical Maintenance, SAP-PM, SAP-MM and P6.
• Hands on experience of Planning/ managing experience in

  Turnaround data and KPI management

  .
• Exposure to working in a

  GCC, corporate, or centralized support environment/ Central planning dept.

• Ability to work in a structured, detail-oriented manner with a focus on data quality, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and maintenance best practices
