Role Purpose
The Regional Sales Trainer is responsible for driving and owning performance improvement initiatives for bottom-quartile performers through targeted re-training, on-the-job coaching, and regular store visits. The role focuses on diagnosing skill and behavioral gaps on the retail floor, delivering practical interventions, and tracking improvement against defined business metrics to enhance customer experience and sales performance across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute performance improvement plans for bottom quartile stores/performers across the region.
- Conduct regular store visits to observe on-floor behaviors, selling skills, and customer interactions. - Diagnose skill, knowledge, and behavioral gaps using data, observations, and stakeholder inputs. - Design and deliver targeted re-training and coaching interventions (1:1 and group-based). - Track post-training performance improvements using defined KPIs such as sales, conversion, and Customer service metrics. - Provide structured feedback and coaching to Store Managers and frontline sales teams. - Support classroom training programs as required, ensuring alignment with regional and business needs. - Collaborate closely with Store Managers and Area Managers to ensure training effectiveness and consistency. - Share best practices, success stories, and learning insights across the region. - Maintain training quality, documentation, and reporting on regional performance improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Store Managers to reinforce coaching and capability building on the floor.
- Work closely with Area Managers to align training interventions with regional business priorities. - Collaborate with the L&D/Academy team to ensure content relevance and learning effectiveness.

- Strong on-floor coaching, observation, and feedback skills.
- Ability to diagnose sales performance gaps and recommend actionable solutions. - Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills. - Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze and track performance metrics. - High ownership, execution focus, and proactive field presence. - Strong stakeholder management and collaboration capability.
Experience & Qualifications
- 48 years of experience in retail sales training, field coaching, or performance management.
- Proven experience in improving sales performance through structured interventions. - Exposure to classroom training, on-the-job training, and field coaching models. - Experience working closely with Store Managers and Area/Regional leadership.
- Graduate/Postgraduate in any discipline (MBA preferred).
Travel & Field Expectation
- Extensive field presence across the assigned region.
- Frequent travel to stores is a core requirement of the role.
Success Metrics
- Improvement in sales and customer experience metrics of the bottom quartile and developing stores.
- Reduction in performance gaps across the region. - Quality and consistency of coaching delivered on the floor. - Sustained performance improvement post-training interventions.
