Job Description

The Restaurant Captain is responsible for supervising the service team, ensuring smooth restaurant operations, delivering high-quality guest service, and maintaining service standards. The role acts as a link between guests, service staff, and management to ensure guest satisfaction and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service & Satisfaction

  • Welcome and seat guests, ensuring they are comfortable.
  • Take food & beverage orders accurately and ensure timely service.
  • Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure personalized service to regular and VIP guests.

Team Supervision

  • Supervise waiters, stewards, and service staff during operations.
  • Assign tables, tasks, and sections to team members.
  • Train and guide staff on service standards, upselling, and guest handling.

Operations & Standards

  • Ensure tables are properly set up and maintained as per hotel standards.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff for smooth food & beverage service.
  • Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in the restaurant.
  • Check bills before presentation and ensure accurate billing.

Sales & Upselling

  • Suggest menu items and promotions to guests.
  • Encourage upselling of food, beverages, and special offers.
  • Assist in achieving restaurant sales targets.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare shift reports and communicate operational issues to the Restaurant Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel SOPs, licensing, and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with other departments (kitchen, housekeeping, accounts) for smooth operations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent.
  • 2–4 years of experience in F&B service, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Good knowledge of food, beverages, wines, and service techniques.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and guest-handling skills.
  • Ability to train, motivate, and manage a team.
  • Presentable, courteous, and customer-service oriented.

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
