Job Description

As a Reservation Supervisor at JW Marriott, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the accuracy of room blocks, reservations, and group market codes. You will play a key role in communicating the company values and culture to new employees and implementing new reservations procedures. Handling reservation requests, changes, and cancellations via phone, fax, or mail will be part of your daily tasks. It will be crucial for you to identify guest reservation needs, determine appropriate room types, and explain guarantee, special rate, and cancellation policies to callers. Accommodating special requests, answering queries about property facilities/services, and following sales techniques to maximize revenue will be essential in this role. You will be required to input and access data in the reservation system, respond to challenges related to accommodating rooming requests, and ensure proper billing accounts set-up as per Accounting policies. Troubleshooting, resolving, and documenting guest issues and concerns will be another aspect of your role, and you may need to escalate or refer complex matters to the appropriate individual. In addition to your operational duties, you will assist in training, scheduling, counseling, and motivating employees. Serving as a role model and the first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process will be part of your supervisory responsibilities. Upholding company policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting proprietary information, and providing excellent guest service are vital aspects of this role. Your positive attitude, clear communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to build positive relationships with others will contribute to your success. You should be able to handle physical tasks such as moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. Your willingness to perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors is expected. **Preferred Qualifications:** - **Education:** High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. - **Related Work Experience:** At least 2 years of relevant work experience. - **Supervisory Experience:** At least 1 year of supervisory experience. - **License or Certification:** None required.
