Research Associate

Overview of Role:

The candidate will be responsible for process development at Laboratory scale and scale-up operations. Also, conduct the trials for process validation and material balance. Candidate should have a sound knowledge of downstream processing related to separation, purification, concentration, formulation and spray drying of bioactive compounds.

Role & responsibilities

• Process development at Lab scale and process validation
• Process scaleup and its validation along with the material balance
• To conduct the analysis for in-process samples and finished product.
• Responsible for sample collection, processing, data generation, data compilation & recording, data analysis.
• Maintenance of all the associated equipment.
• To conduct the equipment trials at different research labs/vendor sites in or outside Karnataka
• Collaborate and work with other teams based on the requirements.
• Prepare and implement SOPs for different equipment/process.

Preferred candidate profile

Knowledge, experience, and education:

B.Tech or M.Tech in Biotechnology/Industrial Biotechnology/Dairy Technology/Biochemical Engineering/Bioprocess Engineering

B. Tech + 2 Years working experience or M. Tech + 1 Year working experience in Biotechnology/BioPharma/Dairy industry

Desirable -

Hands-on experience in downstream processing of microbes including concentration and drying will be an added advantage.

Or

Hands-on experience on formulations of Microbial or Bioactive products

Or

Hands-on experience in dairy industry especially on spray drying operation

Knowledge/skills/experience:

Separation, Purification, Concentration, drying.

Shop floor experience in R&D environment especially in Industrial Biotechnology or Dairy industry

Competencies (Critical Skills, Aptitudes & Personality):

Knowledge of Biochemical process

Knowledge of Downstream Processing of bioactive compounds

Hands-on experience of Evaporation and Spray Drying

Open to work in shifts and on holidays based on process requirement
