Requirement:

Research Assistant at Ikaai India:

Ikaai India Research is looking for Research Assistants for a short-term field assignment. The selected candidates will support data collection and reporting as part of an ongoing evaluation study related to the fisheries and seafood sector.

Location: West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat (Preference will be given to candidates from coastal districts)

Duration: 1-2 weeks (research study)

Remuneration per day for field visit

Travel Expenditure: As per actuals (Mode of transportation can be Auto/Rickshaw/Non-AC Bus)

Persons with two wheelers are preferable.

• This is an urgent requirement — selected candidates must be ready to join immidiately.
• Only those who are available full-time for 2-3 weeks assignment should apply.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Ø Conduct field visits across designated locations

Ø Collect quantitative data through mobile application

Ø Conduct KII with the stakeholders

Ø Engage with the following stakeholder segments:

· Processing Plants

· Exporters

· Storage Premises

· Fishing Vessels

· Dried/Salted Fish Handling Centres

· Live Fish Handling Centres

· Peeling Sheds

· Conveyance Operators

· Fresh/Chilled Fish Handling Centres

· Independent/Common Ice Plants

· Farms

Ø Prepare concise and accurate field reports

Qualifications:

Ø Bachelor’s or master’s degree in fisheries, aquaculture, seafood processing, marine biology, oceanography, social sciences, Development Studies, Rural Management, or related field

Ø Prior field research experience will be an added advantage

Ø Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ø Ability to travel extensively within assigned districts

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹700.00 - ₹1,500.00 per day

• Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
