Research And Development Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Production Manager / Head with 7- 8+ years of relevant experience in the development and production of PE, PP, and PET-based masterbatches and additives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in plastic processing, R&D, quality control, and color matching, preferably within a reputed masterbatch manufacturing company.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage day-to-day production operations for color and additive masterbatches, ensuring high output quality and consistency.

Supervise and coordinate R&D and production development activities for PE, PP, and PET-based masterbatches.

Implement and monitor quality control protocols, adhering to internal standards and industry norms.

Oversee raw material evaluation and testing of pigments, polymers, and additives to ensure material compatibility and performance.

Conduct and analyze laboratory tests such as:

MFI (Melt Flow Index)

Ash Content

Moisture Content

Filtration Test

Dispersion Test

Shade Matching (Visually & with Spectrophotometer)

Drive process improvements to enhance productivity, cost-efficiency, and product consistency.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QC, R&D, Maintenance, SCM) for smooth plant operations.

Ensure adherence to EHS and compliance standards in production activities.

Required Skills and Experience:

Minimum 7- 8 years of experience in masterbatch development and production, especially in color and additive formulations.

In-depth knowledge of plastic processing techniques and compounding technologies.

Strong understanding of masterbatch formulation, dispersion techniques, and testing procedures.

Proficiency in color matching, pigment behavior, and spectrophotometry analysis.

Experience in additive masterbatch formulations is highly desirable.

Leadership capabilities with experience in managing production teams and R&D staff.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

Currently or previously employed in a masterbatch manufacturing company.

Strong analytical, communication, and team leadership skills.

Engineering Degree/Diploma in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
