Responsibilities

• Teach English language and literature to students of Grades VI‑X in accordance with the CBSE syllabus
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons covering grammar, prose, poetry, comprehension, composition etc.
• Assess student progress through tests, quizzes, assignments and provide timely feedback
• Support students who need extra help through remedial classes or additional practice
• Foster an interactive classroom environment that encourages speaking, reading, writing and listening skills
• Encourage students’ participation in English related activities (debates, elocution, creative writing, dramatics etc.)
• Maintain discipline and a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere
• Maintain academic records: attendance, grades, lesson plans and exam reports
• Prepare students for internal and board examinations
• Collaborate with other teachers on curriculum development and share best practices
• Keep updated with CBSE guidelines, modern pedagogical methods and use of teaching aids / technology
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English (Honours or equivalent)
• B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) is mandatory
• Minimum 2‑3 years of teaching experience as TGT English in a CBSE school preferred; fresher may be considered if strong subject knowledge
• Excellent command over spoken and written English
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to use creative and interactive teaching methods
• Good classroom management skills
