Role Overview: As a Retail Banking Relationship Manager at Standard Chartered, your primary goal is to achieve agreed individual financial and non-financial targets by acquiring, growing, and retaining profitable Retail Banking customers within acceptable risk parameters. You will contribute towards achieving the team's overall target and delivering optimal portfolio return. Collaboration and building effective partnerships with other RMs, team leaders, segment heads, colleagues in CDD teams, and risk and compliance partners are essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Strategically acquire, grow, and retain profitable Retail Banking customers while staying within acceptable risk parameters. - Generate new business effectively by identifying prospects and converting them in line with the bank's appetite. - Formulate account plans strategically, provide clients with needs-based solutions, structure appropriate credit facilities, and execute various banking transactions. - Build trusted client relationships proactively and maintain a portfolio of active and growing customers. - Drive continuous improvement of operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes to increase consistency. - Support effective management of operational risks and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. - Execute Business strategy in a safe and well-controlled manner, ensuring infrastructure requirements are fit-for-growth. - Conduct regular and timely customer due diligence (CDD) reviews and ensure error-free CDD profiles for timely sign-off. - Handle customer issues, complaints, and product inquiries promptly and in accordance with established procedures. Qualifications Required: - University Graduate. - Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in serving business/commercial/corporate clients, with experience in servicing international businesses considered a plus. - Excellent financial analysis skills, ability to assess client creditworthiness, and understand key risk considerations/mitigations. - Sound product knowledge in trade, cash, lending, and FX, along with a strong understanding of local industries, supply/value chains, and market environment. - Knowledge of operational procedures, documentation requirements, banking practices, and regulations related to retail banking. - Firm understanding of business guidelines and compliance issues. - Sound knowledge of financial markets and investment products. - Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
