Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Patient Evaluation and Diagnosis:
Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients with gastrointestinal symptoms, including taking medical histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (e.g., endoscopy, colonoscopy, imaging studies), and making accurate diagnoses.
Gastrointestinal Procedures:
Assist with or perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, esophageal dilation, polypectomy, and stent placement.
Treatment Planning and Management:
Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, including prescribing medications, recommending lifestyle modifications, providing dietary advice, and coordinating care with other specialists.
Inpatient and Outpatient Care:
Manage care for hospitalized patients with acute gastrointestinal conditions, conduct consultations, and oversee treatment plans; see patients in clinic visits for follow-ups, routine screenings, and management of chronic gastrointestinal conditions.
Endoscopy and Procedural Skills:
Develop proficiency in maneuvering endoscopes, visualizing and interpreting endoscopic findings, and performing biopsies or therapeutic interventions as needed.
