Regional Manager Environment

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Leadership & Delivery Excellence

• Lead and manage environmental consulting projects including EIA/ESIA, environmental due diligence, regulatory advisory, climate and sustainability assignments.
• Ensure timely, cost-effective, and technically robust project delivery in line with AECOMs quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs (water, ecology, planning, sustainability, climate, remediation).
• Oversee preparation of high-quality reports, presentations, and client deliverables.

2. Regulatory & Technical Expertise

• Provide expert guidance on national and state environmental regulations (MoEFCC, CPCB, SPCBs).
• Lead permitting support including EC, CRZ clearances, Consent to Establish/Operate, and other sectoral approvals.
• Review technical assessments related to air quality modelling, noise, hydrology, waste management, contaminated sites, and environmental risk.

3. Client Engagement & Business Development

• Act as the primary point of contact for regional clients, building strong, long-term relationships.
• Identify emerging opportunities across infrastructure, energy, industrial, transport, and real estate sectors.
• Support proposal development, bid strategies, and presentations.
• Work closely with the Country Lead and regional business leaders to meet revenue and growth targets.

4. Team Leadership & Capability Development

• Manage and mentor regional project teams, ensuring strong technical development and performance.
• Coordinate resource planning across Mumbai/Bangalore/Gurugram to ensure efficient project staffing.
• Create a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence consistent with AECOMs global practices.

5. Risk, Quality, and Compliance Management

• Implement AECOM’s quality assurance procedures on all deliverables.
• Monitor project risks, provide mitigation measures, and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
• Drive health & safety considerations across all field assignments, including environmental sampling and site assessments.

6. Reporting & Internal Coordination

• Prepare monthly project updates, revenue forecasts, and performance dashboards.
• Work collaboratively with other business lines (Water, Transportation, Buildings, Planning, ESG).
• Support internal initiatives—thought leadership, technical papers, knowledge webinars, and innovation programs.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in

  Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Planning

  , or related discipline.

• 15–20 years

  of experience in environmental consulting with proven leadership across multi-city operations.
• Strong knowledge of Indian regulations and international standards (IFC Performance Standards, ADB Safeguards, WB EHS Guidelines).
• Experience leading EIAs/ESIAs, audits, due diligence, permitting, and ESG assignments.
• Proven ability to manage clients, teams, budgets, and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in infrastructure, transportation, energy, industrial or urban development sectors.
• Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (GRI, BRSR, CDP, TCFD).
• Ability to work within global delivery models and remote collaboration frameworks.
• Commercial and strategic mindset aligned with consulting business growth.
