Job Title : Redis Database administrator L3/L4 Platform / Database Administrator.

Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced

  Redis Platform SME (L3/L4)

  with proven expertise in

  Redis Enterprise and Azure Cache for Redis

  to design, operate, and optimize Redis infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments. This role will serve as the

  escalation point for Redis platform operations

  , ensuring

  high availability, performance, scalability, security, and compliance

  for mission-critical enterprise workloads. The SME will drive architecture, daily operations, lifecycle management, automation, and best practices, while partnering with engineering, DevOps, and application teams.

Responsibilities

1. Architecture & Design

Redis Enterprise (Enterprise & Flash)

multi-region Active-Active clusters

sharding, clustering, and persistence strategies

Redis Enterprise modules

2. Provisioning & Deployment

Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes Operators, and ARM templates

Configure multi-tenant Redis clusters with namespace isolation, ACLs, and RBAC.

3. Operations & Monitoring

monitoring/alerting

Tune eviction policies (LRU, LFU, TTL-based) and optimize command usage.

24x7 availability

SLOWLOG

4. Performance Optimization

load testing/benchmarking

connection pooling, pipelining, and batching

OOM or latency spikes

5. Lifecycle Management

patching, hotfixes, and upgrades

capacity expansion, scaling, and migrations

Maintain backward compatibility across Redis versions.

6. Backup, Recovery & DR

Configure automated backups (RDB, AOF, enterprise snapshots).

  : Azure Cache for Redis (Standard, Premium, Enterprise, Enterprise Flash), Redis Enterprise (on-prem & cloud), AWS ElastiCache, GCP Memorystore.

• Automation & IaC

  : Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Kubernetes Operators, ARM templates.

• Monitoring & Observability

  : Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Datadog, Azure Monitor, ELK/EFK.

• CI/CD Tools

  : Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions.

• Security & Key Management

  : Azure Key Vault, AWS KMS, HashiCorp Vault.

Technical Knowledge

• Deep expertise in

  Redis Enterprise architecture

  (clustering, sharding, replication, persistence, Active-Active replication, Enterprise Flash).
• Strong knowledge of

  Azure Cache for Redis tiers

  (Basic, Standard, Premium, Enterprise).
• Advanced understanding of

  persistence mechanisms

  (RDB, AOF), durability trade-offs, and backup strategies.
• Proficiency in

  Linux internals, TCP/IP networking, TLS, firewalls, and load balancing

  .
• Hands-on with

  scripting/programming

  (Python, Bash, Go).
• Familiarity with

  compliance-driven deployments

  (finance, healthcare, regulated industries).

SQL/NoSQL databases

Additional Requirements

• 7+ years

  hands-on Redis Enterprise and Azure Cache for Redis

  in production.
• Proven ability to manage

  large-scale, mission-critical Redis environments

  .
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate across engineering, DevOps, and security teams.

• Preferred

  : Redis Certified Administrator/Developer, Azure or AWS cloud certifications
• Knowledge on Redshift and Postgres.
