Job Description: Personal Loan Recovery Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and result-oriented Personal Loan Recovery Manager to lead and manage recovery efforts for overdue and defaulted personal loan accounts. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, knowledge of regulatory guidelines, and the ability to manage both customers and teams effectively while ensuring compliance with fair recovery practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor delinquent personal loan accounts and strategize recovery actions.
  • Contact borrowers through phone calls, field visits, and written communication to negotiate repayments.
  • Design and implement repayment plans, restructuring, or settlement agreements when applicable.
  • Ensure adherence to RBI guidelines, company policies, and ethical recovery practices.
  • Liaise with legal teams to initiate recovery through arbitration, notices, or court proceedings.
  • Lead and supervise recovery officers/field agents, providing guidance and training.
  • Prepare and maintain MIS reports on overdue accounts, collections, and recovery progress.
  • Analyze delinquency trends and recommend improvements to reduce NPAs (Non-Performing Assets).

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field. (MBA preferred)
  • 4–8 years of experience in loan recovery/collections, preferably in NBFCs or Banks.
  • Strong knowledge of personal loan products and RBI recovery regulations.
  • Excellent communication, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage teams and handle high-pressure situations.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with proficiency in MS Excel/CRM tools.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Recovery percentage against assigned targets.
  • Reduction in delinquency ratio and NPAs.
  • Efficiency in settlement and restructuring cases.
  • Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Customer feedback and reduction in complaints.

Work Location

  • Mumbai (with travel required for field visits/branch coordination)
