Job Objective:
To serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, offering a warm and welcoming environment aligned with the values of Ayurveda.
The receptionist is responsible for handling patient inquiries, appointments, registrations, and overall front-desk operations to ensure a smooth and healing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Front Desk Operations: Greet patients and visitors politely and respectfully.
Answer phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries promptly.
Manage appointment scheduling for doctors and therapists.
Maintain the reception area in a clean, organized, and serene manner.
2. Patient Registration & Coordination:
Register new and returning patients in the hospital system.
Guide patients to appropriate departments (consultation, Panchakarma, pharmacy, billing). Coordinate appointment flow and inform relevant staff about patient arrivals.
3. Billing & Record Maintenance:
Generate and issue bills, receipts, and payment records. Handle basic cash, card, or UPI transactions (as required).
Maintain and update patient files, records, and consent forms.
4. Communication & Support:
Provide information about Ayurvedic treatments, packages, and hospital timings.
Coordinate with therapists, doctors, housekeeping, and support staff for smooth service delivery.
Handle patient feedback or direct complaints to the appropriate authority.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Minimum: 10+2 / Graduate (Any stream) Diploma in Front Office Management, Hospitality, or Computer Applications preferred
Experience: 1-2 years of front-desk experience (healthcare or wellness center preferred) Fresher with good communication and etiquette may also be considered
Skills:
Good communication in English, Hindi, and local language
Basic knowledge of Ayurveda and wellness services (or willingness to learn)
Computer proficiency: MS Office, basic billing software, or Hospital Management Systems (HMS) Polite, calm, and patient-handling skills
Personal Attributes:
Presentable, well-groomed, and soft-spoken
Empathetic and patient-friendly behavior
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a calm and efficient manner
Respect for traditional healing and Ayurvedic culture
Work Environment:
Front desk of OPD/IPD Ayurvedic hospital
Regular interactions with patients, visitors, and internal teams
Occasionally supports hospital events and wellness activities
