Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Chemist R&D with a strong background in formulation science and a passion for developing cutting-edge personal care products The ideal candidate will lead the research and development of innovative formulations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client specifications, while contributing to continuous improvement and sustainable innovation

Key Responsibilities

Lead the formulation development of skin care, cosmetic, and oral care products from concept to scale-up Design and execute laboratory experiments for new product development, stability testing, and product improvements Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Marketing, and Production Optimize existing formulations for performance, cost-efficiency, and sustainability Conduct in-depth ingredient research, evaluate raw materials, and maintain awareness of new technologies and trends Document and report formulation processes, stability data, and batch records accurately Support troubleshooting activities during pilot and production scale-ups Ensure compliance with local and international cosmetic regulations and standards Mentor junior chemists and technicians, promoting best practices in formulation and lab safety

Required Qualifications

Hard Skills:

Expertise in formulation chemistry (emulsions, gels, surfactant systems, suspensions) Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, raw material compatibility, and manufacturing processes Proficiency in stability and compatibility testing Familiarity with regulatory requirements (eg FDA, BIS, EU Cosmetic Regulation, ISO standards) Experience with laboratory instrumentation and equipment

Soft Skills:

Innovative thinking and strong problem-solving ability Excellent communication and documentation skills Leadership and team mentoring capabilities Project management and multitasking in a fast-paced environment Adaptability to change and a continuous improvement mindset

Education/Certifications:

Bachelor s or Master s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field Additional certifications in Cosmetic Science or Regulatory Affairs are a plus

Preferred Experience:

5-8 years of hands-on experience in cosmetic and personal care product formulation, preferably in a private label or contract manufacturing setting Demonstrated experience in launching products from lab to market Experience working with clients or brand partners on custom formulations
