R&D Product Engineer - Bushings

Role Overview: As a Product Development Engineer at the company, you will be responsible for generating innovative product ideas and addressing challenges that new products can solve. You will work closely with design, engineering, and production teams to streamline manufacturing processes, optimize operations, and ensure cost competitiveness of the products. Key Responsibilities: - Conceptualize new ideas for OIP and RIP bushing manufacturing techniques - Implement design and process FMEA during bushing design and manufacturing - Provide technical support to project team throughout the design, manufacturing, and testing phases - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product design and performance - Offer sustainable solutions to improve bushing assembly and installation processes - Experiment with different materials, production processes, and design tolerances for manufacturing - Provide technical support to SCM in supplier qualification, outturn sample qualification, or PPAP - Contribute to product or process innovation by staying informed about upcoming trends in bushing technology - Troubleshoot any potential problems during manufacturing, prototyping, or type testing of bushings - Investigate technical issues using effective problem-solving techniques such as 5 Whys and SWOT analysis - Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for your actions and supporting your colleagues and the business - Ensure compliance with relevant external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering - 5+ years of industrial experience in product design, engineering, or testing - Working experience in bushing design or relevant high voltage electrical products - Knowledge of condenser core manufacturing, insulation materials, and high voltage testing - Familiarity with assembly jigs, fixtures, measurement tools, and product or process quality controls - Understanding of engineering principles, global standards, OEM regulations, and best industrial practices - Knowledge of automation, digitalization, AI, and condition monitoring is a plus - Proficiency in both spoken and written English language (Note: Any additional details of the company were not included in the provided job description.),
