Job Description

As an R&D Manager at Vecmocon, you will be responsible for leading the development of EV chargers from concept to production and end-of-life. This includes managing hardware requirements, architecture, validation planning, testing & certification, and ensuring reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable product delivery. Your role will require a good understanding of power electronics and embedded systems. - **Design and Development:** - Develop and finalize product architectures and guide team members in hardware designing. - Conduct hardware design reviews. - Evaluate new technologies and explore their feasibility. - **Project Management:** - Own hardware development timelines and ensure alignment with product milestones. - Assign tasks to team members, track progress, resolve roadblocks, and ensure efficient execution. - Work with firmware, mechanical, validation, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues, align schedules, and ensure cross-functional coordination during development. - **Design & Development Quality:** - Define and enforce the hardware development process for robust and reliable products. - Participate in analyses such as DFMEA and DFM, and contribute actively to design reviews. - Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as ISO26262. - **Testing & Validation:** - Develop design validation plans and monitor their implementation. - Review test reports and verify complete documentation. - Manage external testing procedures (EMI/EMC, IP, vibration, etc.). - Oversee homologation and certification processes. - **Cost & Quality Optimization:** - Lead RCA for field issues and implement design improvements. - Continuously drive down cost, size, and complexity while improving reliability. - **Cross-functional Collaboration:** - Act as the single point-of-contact for development across teams. - Ensure seamless handover from development to validation and production. **Qualifications Required:** - Strong understanding of PCB design, power electronics, and embedded hardware systems. - Experience with hardware development processes (DFM, DFA, DFMEA, validation). - Familiarity with testing standards (EMI/EMC, environmental, safety). - Familiarity with electronics production-related challenges and solving for them. - Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive timely execution. - Good analytical and debugging skills. - Experience with hardware tools: Altium/Eagle, simulation (LTSpice/PSpice), test instruments. - Strong communication and leadership skills, including team mentoring, conflict resolution, and effective delegation.,
