Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated R&D Formulation Chemist - Personal Care Cosmetic to join our dynamic team
In this role, you will play a key part in developing innovative, safe, and effective cosmetic formulations that align with our clients visions and our company s high standards You ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to bring products from concept to market, embodying our values of quality, creativity, and customer-centricity

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test new cosmetic formulations (eg creams, lotions, serums, makeup, etc) that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements
Conduct stability, compatibility, and performance testing to ensure product safety and efficacy Source and evaluate raw materials, working with suppliers to maintain quality and cost-effectiveness Collaborate with production, marketing, and quality assurance teams to scale formulations from lab to manufacturing Stay updated on industry trends, ingredients, and technologies to drive innovation in product development Maintain detailed documentation of formulations, processes, and testing results for compliance and future reference Troubleshoot formulation challenges and provide technical support during production scale-up

Qualifications

Education & Certifications:

Bachelor s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or a related field (Master s degree preferred)
Certification in cosmetic science or formulation (eg Society of Cosmetic Chemists courses) is a plus

Hard Skills:

Strong knowledge of cosmetic chemistry, including emulsions, surfactants, preservatives, and active ingredients
Hands-on experience with lab equipment (eg pH meters, viscometers, homogenizers) Proficiency in formulation software and Microsoft Office Suite Understanding of regulatory standards (eg FDA, EU Cosmetics Regulation, or local equivalents)

Soft Skills:

Creative problem-solving and a passion for innovation
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across departments Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality Adaptability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience:

3-5 years of experience in cosmetic or personal care product formulation, ideally in a private label or contract manufacturing setting
Proven track record of successfully developing and launching cosmetic products Experience working with natural, organic, or sustainable ingredients is highly desirable
