Railcar Repair Technician

As a Railcar Repair Technician at Union Tank Car Company (UTLX), you will play a crucial role in conducting repair and maintenance on tank cars while prioritizing safety and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include: - Conducting all aspects of repair and maintenance on tank cars following current repair procedures - Performing railcar inspections to ensure compliance and making necessary repairs - Meeting customer expectations and ensuring their satisfaction with the work done - Ensuring all necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information is complete - Maintaining all certifications, demonstrating familiarity with AAR rules and regulations - Completing other work-related tasks as assigned You will be required to work rotating shifts, including AM Inspection Shift, PM Inspection Shift, Repair Shift, and weekends & OT as needed. General requirements for this position include: - High school diploma or GED - Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills - Ability to use hand tools and perform basic railcar repairs and inspections - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team - Ability to work safely in various weather conditions - Valid Driver's License In addition, you should be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, working at elevated heights, working in confined spaces, and passing company physical exams and screenings.
