Job Responsibilities :

• Maintain effective radio communication with all ships calling at the terminal
• Monitor vessel movement in the terminal area and issue instruction regarding berthing and un-berthing
• Intimate vessel movement plan to pilot, support crafts, agents, surveyors and other terminal personnel
• Monitor and intimate ETC, ETA to traffic scheduler for expediting vessel's movement
• Maintain records of vessels calling at the terminal
• Maintain a log of port closure, berth and crafts maintenance
• Prepare and circulate Port Status and Vessel status report
• Monitor closely SPM telemetry parameters of SPMs
• Monitor weather station and issue Navigational warnings
  

Education Requirement :

• To be in possession of valid GMDSS certificate issued by WPC, Ministry of Communications, India
  

Experience Requirement :

• Work experience as radio officer on board ships, in port or in VTS for at least 1 year
  

Skills & Competencies :

• To have sound knowledge of navigation and communication equipment such as RADAR, ECDIS, VHF, AIS
• To have basic computer skills
• To have basic knowledge of terminal operations
• To be able to communicate in English
