As a Senior Specialist in Corporate Accounting at Avient Corporation, reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, your key role involves various responsibilities related to the month-end close process, accrual accounting, and other financial activities for the US and Canadian subsidiaries. Your flexibility to work in different shifts, especially in EMEA and US time zones, is crucial for this role. **Role Overview:** You will be responsible for managing SAP general ledger accounting activities, including the monthly and quarterly closing process, preparing journal entries, and account reconciliations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing Accounting, Global Business Services, and Treasury is essential for process improvements and efficient close processes. **Key Responsibilities:** - Manage SAP general ledger accounting activities, including closing processes and oversight of accounts. - Coordinate with various departments for process improvements and effective monthly and quarterly closes. - Prepare accounting requirements such as journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis of activities. - Identify areas for improvement and potential automation opportunities. - Assist in SOX compliance, external and internal audits, and other assigned duties. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field. - CA / Inter CA, MBA in finance, or similar specialization. - Mandatory SAP experience. - Desirable: Experience with HFM tool and multi-entity operations. - Advanced Excel skills, with VBA Macro / Power Automate scripting skills preferred. - Data analytics experience, with Tableau / Power BI knowledge preferred. - 7+ years of experience in accounting, finance, and SAP environment. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Critical thinking ability and adaptability to a fast-paced environment. - Team player with leadership and project management skills.
