Job Summary
The QA Manager is responsible for leading and managing the entire Quality Assurance and Quality
Control functions within the cosmetics manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all products meet
regulatory, customer, and internal quality standards by overseeing raw materials, packaging
materials, inprocess checks, finished goods quality (including microbial quality), GMP/GHK
compliance, documentation, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. The QA Manager acts as
the key quality representative for internal teams, customers, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Overall Quality Management
• Lead and manage the overall Quality Management System (QMS) across the factory.
• Ensure quality compliance for raw materials, packaging materials, inprocess stages, and
finished goods—including microbial quality.
• Maintain robust batch traceability and ensure timely retrieval of product samples.
2. GMP, GHK & Regulatory Compliance
• Monitor and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Housekeeping (GHK)
across all departments.
• Ensure all formulations and processes comply with FDA approvals, Legal Metrology
requirements, and other applicable cosmetic regulations.
• Verify that all departments follow updated SOPs and ensure periodic review and revalidation.
3. QA & QC Team Leadership
• Supervise daily activities of QA and QC teams, ensuring proper execution of sampling, testing,
documentation, and reporting.
• Ensure all documents are completed accurately, endorsed by department heads, and
maintained as per standards.
• Ensure adherence to MSDS guidelines, PPE usage, and safety protocols.
4. Quality Systems & Documentation
• Prepare, update, and maintain the Quality Assurance Manual annually.
• Oversee change control processes, ensuring proper evaluation, acceptance, and
communication of deviations or nonconformances.
• Prepare weekly and monthly quality performance reports for senior management.
5. InProcess & Finished Goods Quality Control
• Monitor online QC checks for finished products as per SOPs, including AQL/AQOL standards
and defect classification.
• Ensure QC instruments are validated and calibrated as per schedule.
6. Complaints, Deviations & CAPA
• Monitor customer and consumer complaints and provide CAPA within 24 hours.
• Identify critical noncompliances and stop production when necessary to prevent quality risks.
• Conduct periodic internal audits and report deviations to management with corrective action
recommendations.
7. CrossFunctional & Customer Coordination
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, R&D, warehouse, and other departments to ensure
smooth quality operations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customer QA teams and external audits.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacy, or
related field.
• 7–12 years of experience in QA/QC within cosmetics, personal care, or pharmaceutical
manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, GHK, FDA cosmetic regulations, and quality systems.
• Experience in handling audits, CAPA, and customer quality interactions.
