Quality Inspector/ QC Engineer

Job Summary: The QC Inspector will be responsible for conducting in-line inspection of automotive components during the manufacturing process. The role ensures that components meet the required quality standards as per control plans, drawings, and customer specifications. Key Responsibilities: Perform in-process inspection and line patrol checks at various stages of manufacturing. Verify parts against engineering drawings, specifications, and control plans. Check dimensions, visual appearance, and functional aspects of components using appropriate measuring instruments. Record inspection results and maintain inspection documentation as per IATF 16949 standards. Identify non-conformities and report deviations immediately to the concerned supervisor. Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for quality issues. Ensure compliance with 5S, Kaizen, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) on the shop floor. Communicate effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams regarding inspection status and issues. Support internal and external audits and quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering / Automobile / Production or related field. 1 to 4 years of hands-on experience in in-line inspection in an automotive component manufacturing setup. Familiar with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 quality systems and documentation. Proficient in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauges, etc. Basic understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality standards. Good communication and documentation skills. Attention to detail, proactive, and a strong team player. Preferred: Prior experience in forging, machining, plastic, or sheet metal components. Exposure to PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA . Knowledge of MS Excel / basic computer usage.
