Quality Head - Coimbatore

The Head of Quality is responsible for leading the quality function across all stages of automotive manufacturingfrom product development to post-sale service. This role ensures that vehicles meet rigorous safety, reliability, and performance standards while driving a culture of continuous improvement.

Your Contribution

Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and implement a company-wide quality vision and strategy aligned with business goals.
• Lead the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 45001, 9001, and other relevant standards.
• Champion Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, and Lean initiatives.

Operational Excellence

• Oversee quality assurance across design, production, and supply chain.
• Monitor and reduce customer complaints, warranty claims, and internal defects (e.g., PPM rates).
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using PDCA, FMEA, and control plans.

Performance & Compliance

• Define and track key quality metrics (e.g., First Pass Yield, Cost of Quality).
• Conduct audits (internal, supplier, and customer) and ensure timely closure of non-conformities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

• Lead and mentor cross-functional quality teams.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and customer service to embed quality into every process.
• Represent the company in customer and regulatory quality discussions.

Your Experience and Qualification

• Education - Bachelor’s/Master’s in Mechanical, Production Automotive, or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience - 15–20 years in automotive quality, with leadership experience
• Certifications - Six Sigma Black Belt, Lead Auditor (ISO/IATF), TQM preferred
• Technical Skills - PFMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, 8D, Control Plans
• Soft Skills - Strategic thinking, leadership, communication, problem-solving
