Role Summary

Quality Engineer Plastic Injection Molding

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Control

• Monitor and ensure compliance with

  injection molding process standards

  and quality plans.
• Conduct

  in-process and final inspection

  of molded parts against specifications and customer requirements.
• Validate new tools, molds, and process trials for dimensional accuracy and cosmetic quality.
  

Problem-Solving & Improvement

• Lead

  root cause analysis (RCA)

  and implement

  corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

  for defects such as

  flash, sink marks, short shots, warpage, and flow lines

  .
• Work with production and toolroom teams on

  mold corrections, polishing, and preventive maintenance feedback

  .
• Drive

  continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, 5S)

  to enhance yield and reduce rejection rates.

Systems & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with

  ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific quality standards

  .
• Prepare and maintain

  PPAP, APQP, FMEA, control plans, SPC, and MSA studies

  .
• Handle

  customer audits, internal audits, and supplier quality audits

  related to molding processes.

Customer & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as a

  customer interface for quality issues

  related to plastic parts.
• Support new product development (NPI) and part approval processes.
  
• Collaborate with design, tool room, and production for

  DFM reviews

  and quality improvements.

Candidate Requirements

• Educational Qualification:

  Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

• Experience:

  812 years in

  Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering

  within

  plastic injection molding

  manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of

  plastic materials, molding defects, tool/mold validation, and process troubleshooting

  .
• Proficiency in

  quality tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, 8D, RCA, CAPA)

  .
• Experience in

  EMS/Automotive/Consumer Electronics

  sector preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  
• Knowledge of

  CMM, vision inspection, and precision measurement systems

  is a plus.
